Istanbul Modern

The Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, also known as Istanbul Modern, opened in 2004 and features the work of modern and contemporary Turkish artists, from the late 19th century to 21st century, as well as some non-Turkish artists.

Permanent and rotating exhibits display a range of media – photography, video, film, painting, sculpture and architecture.

The museum is housed in a converted warehouse, overlooking the Bosphorus in the Beyoglu district. The on site restaurant was a Trip Advisor Traveler’s Choice winner in 2012.
